Leighton Meester ft. Robin Thicke - Somebody To Love

8… That’s the number of times I had to hear this song for it to really grow on me. Give it a listen… What do you think?

Random Thought #35

My best friend Aiyah and I just spent the last 20 minutes planning a hypothetical wedding/civil union for our friend Mark.

It was fun.

The Dream Job

My coworker just brought up the topic of dream jobs. She saw a flyer for LAPD and mentioned that when she was young, she dreamed of being an officer in the K-9 unit of the police department. The conversation got me thinking of my own dream jobs.

When I was very young, I wanted to be an actor turned singer. Even as a child, I was very specific. I imagined being a Broadway baby who makes a big screen debut. With my budding success and musical background, I would go on to release two hugely popular R&B albums. As we all know, that dream didn’t pan out. I never made it to Broadway. My singing career was cut at high school show choir and concert choir. And my acting career has been limited to a half dozen commercials, some extra work, and a scene that was cut from a cheesy scifi movie.

Some time in high school/college the idea of being a writer really started to appeal to me. I had/have/will have hundreds of ideas for stories, screen plays, TV shows, graphic novels, and humor columns. The problem is that I lack the motivation and/or to finish any of them. The beginnings always start off well, but right around the climax of the story, my ideas run dry. I’ve recently considered selling the ideas in hopes that maybe one day they’ll get finished.

The most recent and current job on my list of dream jobs is magazine editor. The full idea is still developing in my brain, but my 10 y/o niece said it best, “Talk about stuff people like… Clothes, music, electronics and Glee.”

“Replay” (IYAZ Cover) - Joseph Vincent

Damn… That is a good cover! Loving it even more because this song will forever remind me of recent trip to Hawaii; it was one of the three songs that I heard every day of my vacation.
